I’ve been there too. I didn’t book my first session until well into adulthood, and honestly? I wish I had done it sooner! I let my doubts and fears hold me back for way too long.


But I don't want that to be your story!


Doing a luxury boudoir session isn’t just about taking beautiful photos (though we definitely do that!). It’s about the experience, the confidence, and the celebration of you. And to make that less intimidating, I’m breaking down my boudoir booking process from start to finish — exactly how it happens at Wander In Lace Boudoir – Manchester Boudoir Photographer. ❤️

Step 1: The Moment You Decide to Inquire for Your Boudoir Session

First things first — reach out to me! Fill out a quick contact form on my website with some basic info about you, the kind of session you’re dreaming of, and any questions you already have. At this point, I’ll get back to you as soon as possible to schedule your complimentary phone consultation.


This first chat is not scary, and it’s not a sales call. It’s honestly just me talking you through the full boudoir experience, answering any questions you have — even the ones you haven’t thought to ask yet — and helping you figure out what kind of session feels right for your body, your story, and your vision.


Most women tell me they’re nervous during this call — and that’s perfectly okay! Nervous doesn’t mean no. It just means you’re ready for something big. And that you're no longer letting fear hold you back.

Step 2: Securing Your Boudoir Session Date + Booking

Once we chat and you feel confident, the next step is securing your boudoir session date. A non-refundable deposit of $500 holds your spot, and the rest of your session investment is due before your shoot day. You can pay in full or do a payment plan. It's up to you! Typical session investments range from luxury packages to custom artwork options that fit your needs.

  • It gives you something to look forward to — not just a photoshoot, but a memory and moment just for you.


Once your date is secured, I send you my Wander in Lace Boudoir Booking Guide that goes into everything from packing your outfits to skincare tips so you feel confident walking into the studio. You’ll also fill out a questionnaire that helps me get to know you — your style, your vibe, your why — so I can tailor your session perfectly to you.

Step 3: Pre-Session Prep (This Is Where the Magic Begins!)

You’ll start thinking about things like:

  • What outfits make you feel sexy, confident, and comfortable
  • Which pieces from your own wardrobe you want to bring
  • Any special items that tell your story


And I’ll be here guiding you through it. I do not expect you to show up knowing exactly what to wear or how to pose — that’s my job.


We also offer a large client closet with beautiful lingerie pieces and accessories (did someone say handcuffs?) you can borrow for your session if you want to try something new or unexpected!


If you want a spray tan to get that extra boost of confidence, we have a trusted partner in Londonderry, NH who can help ease you into that part of the experience too. It’s totally optional, but it’s one of those things my clients gladly take advantage of!

Step 4: Hair & Makeup — Pampering Time!

Your session day starts at 10:00am with professional hair and makeup with one of our incredible artists. This part is about you being pampered — not changed. Her goal is to enhance your natural beauty so the camera captures all your best features. You can bring inspiration photos or talk through the look you want beforehand.


This pampering time helps calm nerves, boost confidence, and transitions you into the mindset of celebrating yourself. We’ll also laugh, listen to your favorite music, sip on some refreshments, and just enjoy the moment before the camera even comes out.

Step 5: Your Actual Boudoir Session

Here’s where we get serious about fun. You’ll spend about 1–2 hours with me in the studio. I guide you every step of the way — from breathing techniques that ease nerves to posing suggestions that flatter your unique body. You do not need to have modeling experience — I literally coach every single pose so you can show up as you and still look stunning! I'll guide you on where to put your hands, how to relax your face, and everything in between...so you don't have to figure out what looks sexy. You already got that beauty, babe! I'm just here to bring it out on camera.


We also take breaks, laugh when something feels goofy (it always does, and that’s okay!), and truly create an environment where you get to be soft, fierce, bold, sexy, and confident.


By the end, most women tell me it feels way more fun than they expected.

Step 6: Same-Day Reveal + Ordering Your Boudoir Images

This is the best part. After your session, we take a short break for lunch, and then we meet back at the studio for your reveal & ordering session. This is where you see your gorgeous images for the first time — on a big screen, in full detail, and without any pressure.


You’ll hand-pick your favorites — the ones that make your heart skip a beat — and you get to choose which custom products you want, like:

  • Luxury handcrafted albums
  • Fine art wall prints
  • Archival keepsake boxes


These pieces aren’t just photos — they’re heirlooms, reminders of your strength, your beauty, and your story. And we’ll help you choose exactly what fits your vision and your home.

Step 7: Your Finished Artwork Arrives

After you’ve selected your favorites, your boudoir gallery gets fully finished (retouched and polished), and your artwork gets crafted specifically for you. This usually takes around 4–6 weeks before delivery.


When you see your album or wall art in your space — every morning, every mirror glance, every quiet moment — it becomes a reminder of how incredible you are.
